Kris Olson

Kris Olson (Performer/Choreographer) started dancing seriously when she turned 30, figuring it was now or never. At that time she studied intensely through Zenon Dance Company’s scholarship program in Minneapolis. Kris was a founding member of Schulfunk, a Minneapolis-based performance group that combined song, dance, and percussion. She has an MA in music education with an emphasis in Orff-Schulwerk, an educational philosophy that incorporates movement into the music classroom. Kris has been teaching children for over 30 years and presents teacher training workshops throughout the U.S. She currently teaches children’s music and dance classes in Lubbock, TX, produces a children’s show, and adjuncts in dance at Texas Tech when needed. Her love of rhythm keeps her busy with body percussion, Border Morris folk dance, and random percussion instruments.
