Technical and Support Staff
Joshua Taylor Whitt (Production Manager) has a M.F.A. in Theater specializing in Scenic Design, Properties, and Scenic Art from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and a BA in Drama with a concentration in Design from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.
Joshua is the Production Manager for the Flatlands Dance Theatre (2014-present) in Lubbock, Texas; stage managing and overseeing the company's technical needs for their productions.
In addition, he also is the Production Manager for Texas Tech University's Talkington School of Theatre & Dance, as of June 2019. He is also the advisor for the student chapter of United States Institute for Theatre Technology (2013-Present), a national organization in which he is also a member (2006-Present). His previous employment was as the School's Scenic Charge Artist and Properties Master for season productions (2012-2019). During that time, he was also the scenic designer for several of the season's productions.
Previously to moving to Lubbock, he worked on many productions as a technician for the Knox Concert Series and the Talladega Ritz Theatre in Alabama (2006–2008); as the summer Technical Director for Buck's Rock Creative and Performance Arts Camp in New Milford, Connecticut (2008-2012); and as the scenic designer for Cabaret (2010) at Red Mountain Theater in Birmingham, Alabama, 39 Steps (2011) for Theater B in Fargo, North Dakota, and was the guest scenic and lighting designer for The Syringa Tree (2012) for Jacksonville State University.
Over his career he has worked in many aspects of technical theatre from technician, designer, to production manager, and enjoys everyday he gets to work with creative projects and individuals. He lends his success to his wonderful husband who has always been supportive of all his creative endeavors.
